Private Pilot License Aeroplanes – PPL(A)

Whether for pleasure of for professional motivations, the Private Pilot License is the first necessary step in a pilot’s training career. It enables the acquirement of the basic flying skills and build-up a solid foundation for further extended licensing.

The Private Pilot License course aims to train the student pilot to fly safely and efficiently under Visual Flight Rules (VFR), as well as acting (without remuneration) as pilot-in-command or copilot of any airplane engaged in non-revenue flights.

General requirements for a Private Pilot License:

  1. Age – An applicant shall be a minimum of eighteen years of age.
  2. Medical Fitness – An applicant shall hold a valid Class 1 or 2 Aviation Medical Certificate.

Private Pilot License curriculum:

  1. Knowledge – An applicant will complete an approved course that includes a minimum of 60 hours private pilot ground school.
  2. Experience – An applicant will complete a minimum of 40 hours private pilot flight training in aeroplanes.

Private Pilot License Ground Stages:

STAGE I Introduction to The Aeronautical Principles and airplane systems.
STAGE II The Flight Environment, regulations and communication.
STAGE III The Human factors, weather and weather data.
STAGE IV Airplane performance and navigation.
STAGE V Preparation for the knowledge test.

Private Pilot License Flight Stages:

STAGE I Familiarization and Introduction to The Fundamentals of Flight.
STAGE II The Flight Maneuvers.
STAGE III The Traffic Pattern.
STAGE IV Solo Flights.
STAGE V The Flight Instruments.
STAGE VI Navigation.
STAGE VII Preparation for the Check ride.

  • The hours provided for the Tuition above are the minimum course requirement. According to the overall performance and progress of the pilot additional instruction may be required to meet the proficiency standards required to satisfactorily complete the Private Pilot License program. The number of additional hours will be determined by the Flight Instructor.
  • The Fees may be adjusted without prior notice by Beirut Wings management in the event of unforeseen cost escalation, including but not limited to, rapidly rising fuel costs or increased aircraft flying costs.
  • Flight Training Material cost is based on mandatory items needed to complete the course.
