The “Junior Aviators” is an aviation program to show juniors what aviation is all about and to give them an experience of being up front in the cockpit with the pilot of an aircraft in flight.
This special course is designed for juniors aged between 8 and 17 it will give them the opportunity to learn more about flying.
How an airplane fly?
What are the components of an airplane?
How do pilots learn to fly an airplane?
In addition to Junior Flyers being a unique feeder program, we designed a new and comprehensive curriculum to bring aviation education to a region where students historically have not had the exposure to aviation education and thus to aviation careers.
Juniors will experience an aviation education through activity-based learning and a curriculum focused on science, technology and engineering.
We believe Junior Aviators’ program will give them incentives to stay in school and perform well academically. Parents also have their place and can attend the course.
Junior Aviators will experience:
You can actually ride in an aircraft up front with the pilot!
Your pilot will teach you about the controls, the parts of an aircraft, about the aircraft checks and ways of safely flying and then you will go on a short ride with the instructor where you will be shown how to takeoff, fly along straight and level, and how to land. You will become a Junior Aviator and earn a certificate showing that you learned what flying is all about. You can ask your instructor as many questions as you like. In doing so, you’ll learn more about aircraft and the principles of flight. That’s all there is to it. It’s really that simple!

Your pilot will prepare you for your demonstration flight. You can ask as many questions as you wish.First of all, your pilot will explain what you will do and see. Then he will tell you about the aircraft, you will review an aeronautical chart and identify reference points you will look for during the flight. You will complete a careful “walk around” preflight inspection of the aircraft and identify the parts that control the aircraft. The pilot will help you buckle your seat belt and describe the interior of the aircraft, including the instrument panel.

The biggest question on your mind might be about the actual flight. So what should you expect?
First of all, before the flight, your instructor will explain what will happen during the flight. This might include talking about the airplane;completing a careful “walk around” preflight inspection of the airplane and identifying the parts that control the airplane reviewing an aeronautical chart (or map)and identifying reference points during the flight.
Once you are ready to go flying, your pilot will help you buckle your seat belt and describe the interior of the airplane, including the instrument panel. Pretty soon, it will be time to go flying!
Once in the air, you’ll see the earth and sky in a new and exciting way. You’ll experience the wonderful freedom of flight that many people only dream about. If you are like most Junior Aviators, you’ll remember this experience for the rest of your life.
Once back on the ground, there will be additional time for you to ask questions about your flight. Ask away! Your instructor will be happy to tell you more about flying and their particular airplane.
We look forward to adding your name to the ever-growing list of Beirut Wings’ Junior Aviators!
